"Atlanta Science Festival." "Science for the People" is the theme of this year's Atlanta Science Festival, featuring more than 140 events taking place at venues throughout the city, including many activities lead by Emory students, alumni and staff.
Monday, March 23
"Sleep-based Memory Reactivation and Opportunities for Better Benefits from Sleep." Ken Paller, a neuroscientists from Northwestern University, will discuss methods using sensory stimulation to modify sleep-based memory reactivation and their potential for health-related interventions for sleep disorders. At 4 pm in Emory's Atwood, room 306.
Thursday, March 26
"The Social Minds of Humans and Other Apes." Chris Kupenye, a neuroscientists from Johns Hopkins University, is featured in a talk hosted by Emory's departments of anthropology and psychology. Kupenye will discuss investigations into the social lives of our closest relatives, chimpanzees and bonobos, giving insights into the evolution of human social intelligence. At 4 pm in White Hall, 205.
Friday, April 3
"The Creative Engine and the Sense of Rightness." Raphaƫl Julliard, an anthropologist from the Ehess Social Anthropology Laboratory in Paris, France, will discuss his novel methodology to investigate the creative mind in action. At 4 pm in Emory's PAIS, room 290.
